We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints otherwise known as “The Mormons”. We are proud of this part of who we are! We are excited to team up with over 65+ of us strong… to extend an invitation to see a film. A film entitled “Meet The Mormons”. This film is not meant to be an “in your face – you must join our church film”. It is simply designed and produced to uplift and inspire you through six stories of those of our faith who have followed promptings to follow Christ more fully in their lives. We hope you take the opportunity to enjoy this film. We hope your hearts are made light as you feel the goodness that comes from following our Christ and Savior. All proceeds from the film will be donated to The American Red Cross. So not only will you be uplifted and inspired, your money will be going to an amazing charity!!
We also would like to take a moment and share our personal testimonies, stories of our own personal conversions, and our own stories of how following our Savior, Jesus Christ has changed our lives. The light of the gospel of Jesus Christ offers a joy and hope that only following him can provide. We hope as you click through and read our stories and testimonies of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, you will feel uplifted and encouraged. We are by you! We love connecting with our readers, that is why many of us do what we do! Please be kind and considerate in your comments. It takes great bravery for us to open our hearts and our mouths to share with you such a tender and personal part of who we are. We share because we feel strongly the need to share the peace and the hope that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Hi all! As was mentioned above, I don’t normally share such things because they are dear to my heart, but I feel I need to here. I had the opportunity to see the movie “Meet the Mormons”. It is uplifting and inspiring, no matter your faith. And it shows Mormons as we really are-normal people who have Jesus Christ at their core, who strive to serve and help others, and who have their family at the center of their lives. I promise you, you will leave feeling inspired to be a better person and feeling loved by your Heavenly Father. My husband and I were able to see a screening of it a couple of weeks ago. It is worth your time!
If I were to share something with you, this is what would be. I’m writing as though it’s a letter to a dear friend or family member. Because, I’m hoping, really hoping, that the many people I know and love who are struggling will find something from these words that may help them.
I don’t know what your faith is, but I wanted to share mine because of the peace and strength I have received from it. Our challenges may not be the same, but they are still difficult and painful for each of us, and there is one person who can help all of us, no matter the differences in our experience. And that person is our Savior, Jesus Christ. I so badly want others to feel the same peace and love, and receive the same strength to overcome challenges that I have. And, while I may not know you well, I really wish this for you too. If you have a minute this weekend, I would love for you to see the movie “Meet the Mormons or visit our site Mormon.org and read others beliefs.
And here’s a little piece of my heart, my testimony. It’s the core of who I am. I know without a doubt that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that He suffered so that we might live with Him, our Father in Heaven, and our families again. He is my best friend and has always been there for me. I remember the first time I felt my testimony of Him… I was 10 years old and my Grandmother had been battling breast cancer that had come back in her liver. I somehow knew, even though no one would say, that she wasn’t going to be with us for long. On Father’s Day, my parents left us with my other grandmother while they stayed with her. After a few hours, I saw our van pull in the driveway and I knew in that moment that Grandma was gone. My mom, grandma, and I had been “three peas in a pod” and I loved her very much. I couldn’t imagine a world that didn’t have her in it. My dad took us into a bedroom and closed the door and explained what had transpired. As he began relating and sharing the Atonement and the plan that our Savior has for us, I felt my sadness abate and a pure, inexpressible joy filled me. I knew that I would see her again. And I knew then, like I know now, that, because of Jesus Christ, I would be with all of my family someday.
Now, as a wife and mother to two sweet little boys, it brings me so much comfort to know that my family is not just a family while we’re here on Earth but that we will be together forever. My Savior has been there with me no matter what, offering a peace and strength that no one else can give me. Through all the heartache, the sorrow, the pain, He is the one constant I have in my life and the source of the joy and happiness I have been blessed with. This past year, in dealing with anxiety and working through some hard things, I have come to rely upon Him. He has given me strength and showered me with blessings and love. I owe Him everything.
I am a Mormon.
